Edinburgh International Film Festival – ten years of enlightening cinema
Although it feels like yesterday, I realised recently that it has been ten years since I did photography for the Edinburgh International Film Festival‘s ‘new’ branding. We (O Street, EIFF and I), worked closely to make the light writing concept come into fruition, and it definitely took a good few attempts to get it right. Although as you can see, we had a lot of fun in the process and it’s great to see that the logo is still in use. It goes to show the long-lasting benefits of a good concept, executed right.
A final part of the project was to create a promotional trailer for the festival, using stop motion to pull all the images together. We got a whole bunch of volunteers to help with each frame by drawing a shape with a torch. Here’s the final cut of the trailer, which was shown in cinemas around the country.
