For the past couple of months, I have been to more restaurants than I usually visit in a year. Unfortunately, I’ve not actually eaten at all of them (most of them, though). Instead, I’ve been working with Uber, who launched their food delivery service in Scotland recently. The app, called UberEATS, will allow users to order from over 100 outlets, and get food delivered straight to them.

Today I had a cracking day with Barney the Brewer who is my neighbour and fellow Summerhall resident. He approached me a couple of weeks ago to get some product photography of his fantastic beer. We both agreed that it would be much better to get some shots on location as opposed to using a white background. Wanting to hint at its Summerhall roots we wanted to find a location where there where some of the white tiles that you find about the place and also somewhere I could trundle all my fantastic but very heavy strobe kit to. After taking a while trying to squeeze the lights into tight spaces to get the light right we have managed to get some great shots. Here are a couple of the final results without any postproduction done in Photoshop and some of shots of the shoot setup. The first shot is of Barney’s new brew extra pale ale which he is launching in a couple of weeks.
This week I’ve been mainly photographing for various drinks companies, I started the week off with Drambuie then I shot a bottle of gin which the creative genius of ostreet have been working on and finally I shot Barney’s Beer who are based next door to my studio, quite a fiddly week with glass.
On one of the few hot and sunny days this summer I did a shoot for Seaspice who are being rebranded by the wonderful Luminous Creative. We had a magic couple of days over on the west coast with the Mara Maids. Keep your eyes out for their products, yum! Click below to see more images.
I shoot a series of cocktails for Bacardi Brown – Forman Brands the other day, working with the fantastic Ian McLaren. The brief was to make unbranded cocktails that look like we could all make ’em, I could have drunk them all any way. A small selection:

We did a food shoot for Scottish Shellfish last Friday, working with Sean Stewart their development manager and Phil Sanderson of Denvir. Chris did some shots of the shoot which we did at the magic 3/3 studios.
