The National Theatre of Scotland’s first Christmas production – a Christmas Carol

January 24th, 2012

Before Christmas I was working with the fantastic National Theatre of Scotland once again – this time on their production of A Christmas Carol. It was an amazing production, performed in a purpose-built space.

Not only was it very “intimate” for the audience, but the lighting was, well the critics said “atmospheric”, I say dark. Visually stunning, although very tricky to shoot – but we finally got there. If it ever comes round again, I can only recommend trying to get tickets if you can.

Tom Barnett at Aberystwyth International Ceramics Festival

August 5th, 2009

International artist Tom Barnett””s performic sculpture at Abarystwyth International Ceramics Festival. Over five days Barnett and his team built this 10 foot sculptural kiln, than one the Friday evening he started to fire it with it covered in fire blanket. This took 24 hours and it was serenaded by music provided by Simon Mathewson and Cai Longman while a frenzy of images where projected on to it. Barnett had made a series of clocks which where fired in it. Exactly after 24 hours the sculpture was unveiled to dramatic effect. With thanks to Conrad Jackson for assisting me.
